Drop-Lip McGee
When your bottom lip becomes the vacuum cleaner
LOOK, we as saints all go there from time to time and for multiple reasons.
In today’s article this writer wants to point you in the direction of Romans 8 and specifically Romans 8:23-8:241 for a renewing of your mind when DROP-LIP McGEE shows up due to life.
‘And not only [they], but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Let’s have a glimpse at these two wonderful verses in an easy to understand fashion,…the good ol’ bullet point way:
8: 23 ‘have the FIRSTFRUIT of the Spirit’ - Just knowing the fact that we have the ‘holy Spirit of promise, Which is the EARNEST of our inheritence until the the redemption of the purchased possession,…’ (Eph 1:13b-1:14a) which is by design to change our experience via our thinking in the ‘nasty now and now’ as it’s said.
Do you see those words in CAPSLOCK above? Do you see how scripture sheds light on itself? Beautiful hey? Absolutely.
Just reminding ourselves that we have a ‘deposit’ and the ‘full payment’ coming is worthy of Psalm 150 at full volume.
Then,
8:24 ‘…SAVED by hope:…’ What an uplifting, lip reducing, wonderfully epic phrase that will have DROP-LIP McGEE fleeing! Saved from what exactly you might ask?
From being bummed out, in despair, down trodden and everything that causes us to be DROP-LIP McGEE in the first place. That’s what.
Our hope; waiting for the adoption is what saves us. Looking ahead and knowing that our (and using an inter-dispensational phrase from Luke) ‘redemption draweth nigh.’2 My bru, this is just too good!
LAST THOUGHTS
Knowing and understanding Romans 6, 7 & 8 is important to us as members of the Body of Christ. Especially Romans chapter 8.
Moreover as ‘joint-heirs with Christ’3 and as adult sons of God we can send DROP-LIP McGEE packing immediately. Yip, immediately.

Fresh back from the G.S.B. Summer Family Bible Conference in Elmhurst, IL, U.S.A. recently, this writer was a little DROP-LIP McGEE. The writer thanks God for Romans 8. It lifted him up and the writer found he wasn’t vacuuming the floor with his bottom lip anymore. Amen.
