Philippians 3:20: “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Our true home and eternal life are in heaven with the Lord. As we walk by faith in the doctrine we believe, we are walking as who we truly are; women who are believers in Christ. We are to focus above in the heavenly realm, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
What does it mean to “look for the Savior?” We are to focus above and on spiritual things we have in Christ, expectant that one day we will join Him in heaven. Titus 2:13 says, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” We anticipate that day when the Lord Jesus Christ will come in the clouds to take us up to heaven. “For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (I Thess. 4:15-17) It is often referred to as the Rapture. Dear ladies, this is our eternal destiny!
Think on This: It is with these specific words, verse 18 says, that we are to “comfort one another.” The times in which we live will continue to devolve, be grievous, and things will wax worse and worse, so this passage will bring us comfort and renew our focus to ‘look for the Savior.’
